We usually visits our departed loves every November 2, yun talaga ang feast day ng mga patay di ba its called All Soul's Day kasi para sa mga patay :). Pero since declared holiday was only until November 1 kaya "go" ang family noong November kesa nman hindi kami sama-sama pumunta sa aming mga nagbakasyon na pamilya sa heaven diba.

No words can fully express how i felt when I had my first bite of this whimsically designed bread from BreadTalk.
Badly captured tsk tsk tsk |
This fanciful bread dolled up generously with spring onions, ham, carrots and floss had left me speechless. Every bite gave me that blissful feeling that i

Food Trip #8 - Mcdo Chicken Fillet Sandwich
It was lunch and I'm craving for Jollibee spaghetti but i convinced myself to try some meals in Mcdonalds. I havent eaten there for a long time, so this is the time :D
I ordered the chicken fillet sandwich value meal with drinks at Php 50.00 and fries at Php 25.00
Chicken Fillet with Drinks - Php 50.00 Mcdo Fries - Php 25.00 |
The only thing i love about this meal is the Heinz ketchup. It's thicker and richer in flavor. The burger and fries nothing memorable. Next time if i want a value meal chicken sandwich or burger i should go to KFC or Jollibee where their value meals are of true value. hay naku!
Food Trip # 7 - Jollibee Beef n' Mushroom (39ers)
Among the 3 variants of Jollibee 39ers, its the Beef and Mushroom that i love the most. It reminds me of the karne prita (without the mushroom) cooked by mother earth.
The aroma of garlic, the oiliness of the dish ( love oily dish as long as not too much hehehe), the equal serving of beef and mushroom hmm rapsa! Sometimes i can't help it but order another one for take out *winks*
Jollibee Beef n' Mushroom - Php 39.00 |
BTW, I just have to warn you, not to order this meal when its noon or the place is full because you either get a lot of mushroom with few slivers of beef or a small equal serving of mushrooms and beef and a lot of toasted garlic, experienced that at Jollibee SM Bacolod. You wouldn't want that, would you?
I recommend ordering it at Jollibee Northdrive or in Lacson district. Just a tip, have it in the morning between 8:30 to 10:30. They served it generously in those times :)

Food Trip #6 -Tio Sids Burger, Finally!
I'm trying to recall my Tio Sids Burger experience but what remains in my seat of thoughts and memory is how perfectly their patties were grilled.
Tio Sids King Burger - Php 130.00 (Everything in it) |
The patties have no extenders, purely ground beef with some dash of this and that spices. It's juicy, well-cooked and pleasant to the taste however the buns..ang buns daw pandesal tig-a (dry).

Food Trip #5 - Aicee Yummy Chicharon
The only chicharon i knew that brings me to cloud nine is the one made in Carcar, Cebu. I would finished two to three packs and still feel happy not minding the cholesterol loaded in every bite. It certainly causing great harm to my heart but what the heck. I rarely eat this stuff it wont exterminate me in a second, will it?!
Recently, Nang Marge told me to try the chicharon sold at Mc Jade Supermart. This one is made from Bohol. Its tastier, crunchier, meatier,...all of ier (LOL). That's how enthusiastically she describes the evil morsels :D So, without wasting any time, we grabbed a few packs from Mcjade.
See that meaty chicharon..yummy indeed |
My findings:
1. It is indeed tastier, crunchier, meatier and all of the ier :D
2. at Php 35.00 per pack, not bad.
3. pieces of chicharon are bigger compared to the carcar made.
4. best when dip in Sinamak (with vinegar eel visibly seen in the bottle)

Food Trip #3 - Roberto's
I have been reading posts of my favorite food bloggers and i noticed most of them are highly recommending Roberto's as never-to-be-missed when going to Iloilo.
So when my brother asked me to get his PRC license in Iloilo, I eagerly said yes. This is a good time to finally have that siopao that everybody in the foodie world been talking about.
Roberto's is a small place beside Jollibee (at JM Basa St., Iloilo) but with people lining up to order. My sister and I intend to buy the Queen Siopao but the owner told us that it was already sold out (it's their best seller) So, my sister settled with King's Siopao while I ordered the jumbo.
The verdict...it was indeed the best siopao i have ever tasted. the bun was soft and the filling was generous. The only regret i had i didnt order for more tsk tsk tsk. The next time i will be in Roberto's i will surely buy more than one. The taste of it still lingers in my memory that i often found my self daydreaming of my next visit to Roberto's.

Food Trip #2 - Carlitos Restaurant and TGrillhaus
Carlito's. A strategic restaurant near PRC. It looks classy and expensive and at first we were uncertain if we ate our lunch here or take a cab and eat at Jollibee (at least there we are assured we like the food :D ). But since our stomach were clamoring and we didnt had anything when we left Bacolod, we decided...the heck with the price, we were hungry and we need food now!!!! hahaha.
We entered the restaurant and was welcomed with a peaceful atmosphere, its what we really want at the moment, quietness and food. The waitress welcomed us and handed the Menu.

My sister order the Carlito's fried chicken meal at Php 75.00 and Mango Shake. I, on the other hand, had a Steak deTeresa meal at Php 85.00.

Food Trip # 1 - Merci...Manamit
Whenever i'm bored at the office i usually go to Merci, one of my favorite resto here in Victorias (there are really too few to choose from ^_^). My favorite is their pancit canton. At Php 35.00 it can satisfy my hunger and I would always leave the place with a smile.
The vegetables, meat and noodles are well sauteed, not over cooked which i hate and when it arrives at my table it gives off a delectable smell that i cant help but dig in :D

Last bite
This is my best part of the cornetto ice cream where the chocolate is a bit hard and the ice cream is almost gone...
I'm on a quest...
I always love...food. It makes me happy. It doesn't matter if its loaded with tons of fat, sodium or whatever. I know it would slowly kill me and i may die early but i will die with full stomach harharhar :D
Today while surfing the net and ravishing with all the posts of food bloggers, i realized that i have to fulfill my desire---to go places and search for good food to fill not only my stomach but my craving for sumptuous mix of flavors.
i have taken notes, outlined the things i should do first and of course setting aside a budget (this is important, nothing is free this days ¤_¤ you know)
Good luck to me!

Tun-ugan ta!
If u enjoy eating out for less then tun-ugan is the place to be :D. After work most people from my city goes to Tun-ugan to buy pork bbq, tapa bbq, chorizo bbq, liver bbq, chicken intistine bbq (in short ay isaw ^_^) they even sell pig's brain. I know it sounds gross to some who's not too adventurous but promise this one taste great. Its a bit creamy and smooth to the taste. The dice veggies such as potatoes and carrots add color to the pale "you-know-what" and making it more nutritious. You better come in my city and taste it yourself - you'll either hate it or love it :D
